Alberto L. Cologni was born in Ponte San Pietro (Bergamo),¬†Italy, in 1985. He received the MSc. degree (cum¬†laude) in Computer Engineering in 2009 from the¬†Universit√† degli Studi di Bergamo, (Italy).¬† His MSc. thesis is about modeling and¬†identification of an electrohydrostatic actuator. He received the PhD in Mechatronics in 2013 from the Universit√† degli Studi di Bergamo, (Italy) defending the thesis:”Modeling, identification and control problems in polymer processing control”.
In 2010, he was Researcher Assistant at Intellimech (Bergamo, Italy) where he developed control strategies for electrohydrostatic actuators (the Cometha project).
In 2014-2015 he was Research Assistant at CAL, following technology transfer projects in cooperation with industrial companies. He was also Research Leader in the Touchplant project (funded by Regione Lombardia e Fondazione Cariplo) and in the HOLMES project (funded by the EU in the FP7, Clean Sky JTI).

From 2016 he is Project Manager at e-Novia spa.

Currently, he is Lecturer and teaches Industrial Automation class.
