The work presented in this paper is motivated by the aim of simplifying the integration of robotic and information systems technology. This would allow for example to extend the capabilities of autonomous robots with the possibility to access Web resources and services. For this purpose, this paper presents the Task Component Architecture, a framework for the implementation of Service Component Architecture (SCA) components that execute autonomously their service and that can be seamlessly integrated with robotic software control systems.
